Diastasis Recti Treatment
Let us help you resolve your diastasis, naturally and without surgery
In the third trimester of all pregnancies, a separation between the 'sixpack' muscles of the abdomen forms. This diastasis recti (DR) allows the baby more room until delivery. While it always occurs during pregnancy, a diastasis is definitely not something you have to live with post partum.
You are not alone with DR - almost 40% of women still have this separation 6 month after they give birth to their baby. Cosmetically you may notice a 'pregnancy pooch' that doesn't get better with exercise, but DR can also be an important weakness in the core system.
Diastasis has shown to be linked to low back pain, urinary incontinence, painful intercourse, and pelvic floor dysfunction. You may be experiencing some of these symptoms now, or they can manifest months or years later.
You may have have tried exercise programs or personal training regimes without success, or been told your only option is surgery. There's a lot of misinformation out there, but regardless of whether your diastasis is 1.5 or 4 fingers wide, or how many years it's been there, it can be resolved naturally and without surgery.
No matter how long it's been, we can help you resolve a diastasis and restore a healthy core. We'd love to work with you to get you back to your normal activities and whatever exercise you choose!
