"#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration.Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving."

Giving Tuesday is a fantastic way to give to some amazing non-profit organizations, but it can be so hard to decide who to give to! While we fully support many charitable organizations, we love the following non-profit organizations because they champion patients with pelvic pain conditions. Here are some of their facebook posts where you can follow them and even donate to their causes!

1. The Interstitial Cystitis Association

A non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of healthcare and lives of people living with interstitial cystitis (IC). They provide advocacy, research funding, and education to ensure early diagnosis and optimal care with dignity for people affected by IC.

2.  Endometriosis Foundation of America

They strive to increase disease recognition, provide advocacy, facilitate expert surgical training, and fund landmark endometriosis research. They do excellent work to inform both the medical community and the public, placing particular emphasis on the critical importance of early diagnosis and effective intervention while simultaneously providing education to the next generation of medical professionals and their patients.

2.  Health Organization for Pudendal Education (HOPE)

A charitable organization that offers support and information to patients who have pudendal neuropathy (PN), pudendal neuralgia (PN), or pudendal nerve entrapment (PNE).

They describe their goals here:

  1. To help patients develop a plan of action that will assist them in the decision making process as they seek treatments for their illness.

  2. To maintain a list of names of health care providers who treat pudendal neuropathy.

  3. To maintain a website where this information is readily available to people with pudendal neuropathy.

  4. To provide an online forum for people to network with others who have pudendal neuropathy.

  5. To keep abreast of the peer reviewed literature on pudendal neuropathy and bring important new developments to the attention of forum members.

  6. To assist healthcare providers or others in obtaining funds for research of pudendal neuropathy and related diseases

Whoever you decide to give to, we hope that you give with love and generosity! Enjoy your #GivingTuesday!
